I got my first “official” mission assignment, and I can’t wait to melt some cubes! I am already prepped to go to Ignis and show them what I got!

I am so pumped that I get to work with Blaze and Ghost! They are the two best soldiers in The Flame. It’s awesome that my first mission is with them. I know they both think that this will be their last mission, but I don’t think they know how good they really are. I have a feeling that this Flame squad will be crushing cubes long after Project Ignis is over.

Project Ignis is beginning. We have started gathering weapons, food, and armor but, above all, we have begun building resolve.

I know now that I have only one purpose in this broken world and that is to take as many of those pathetic Ice down with me when I die. I pray that it will be enough to finally ignite the Catalysts.

Blaze’s Mission Chronicle: Entry 1

Subject: Supplemental

Mission 117, Project Ignis, has been accepted by myself, Ghost, and Shine. I trust no one more in all of creation than the two I will be leading, but I also fear nothing more than taking my two best soldiers on a suicide mission.

However, I know that no matter how strong the temptation to fear the worst may become, there will always be a way of escape. But for the sake of my squad, I pray that escape does not come in the form of death.

I have counted it an honor to serve with The Flame for these many years, and I believe that this mission will be remembered as one of the greatest that The Flame has ever endeavored to complete. I count it a privilege to serve with my two greatest soldiers on our most challenging  mission yet.

Subject: Assignment Notification 117

Ghost, Shine,

We have received an assignment, potentially. Our commanding officer has informed me of a dire situation on planet 1701 and has asked me to hand select a fire team.

Mission 117, Project Ignis:

Gentlemen, we are going into hell’s hometown. Mission 117 – Project Ignis – has been approved with the stipulations that a) the team sent is comprised 100% of volunteers, b) the mission is kept top secret and, c) if the mission is failed, there will be no ceremony to honor the fallen.

Mission information is being held on an extreme “need to know” basis. The only thing I have been permitted to share is that the destination is planet 1701, aka Ignis. It is a code black planet, meaning we have already pulled our main forces out, and the planet is considered lost. The Ice have nearly achieved their “Deep Freeze.” We are the last resort. Our mission will be an insurrection of sorts. We will infiltrate Ignis, find the remaining VIP and escort him to the “black zone.” I don’t have to tell you what happens if we fail.

I know this is a suicide mission, but an entire planet’s future is in our hands, if we choose to accept this mission.
